Timini Egbuson calls for national lockdown on Valentine’s Day to curb COVID-19 spread

Popular Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson has taken to social media to appeal for a full national lockdown on Valentine’s Day, February 14, so as to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. This is why social distancing has been practiced has the best way to curb the spread of the virus.

Nigerian movie star, Timini Egbuson, who seems to not be a Val fan, has advocated against free movement on that day to prevent lovers from going out to have fun.

The actor, in a bid to crash people’s plans, called for full 24-hours lockdown on Valentine’s day. According to him, the love fever is already spreading too much.

He tweeted,

“We need a full national 24 hours lockdown on Valentine’s Day. This thing don dey spread too much.”
